In 1998 I took training in Reiki level One & Two. In 2001, I graduated with honors as a Registered Massage Therapist here in Ontario. Since that time, I have taken courses in Tibetan Bowl Treatments (Sound healing), a certified program in Aromatherapy, a certified program in Reflexology and I am currently enrolled in a 3 year diploma program for Traditional Western Herbalism,
This year I spent a lot of time on our land in Northern Ontario. I visited the forest, the wetland space and the transition areas. I spent time playing my wooden flute, drumming, taking photos of plants, hunting mushrooms, and working through my studies. When I came back south to work with clients, I was also digging among my plants in our garden in the small city we live in near Toronto. I had taken last year off from offering workshops so I could really focus on my herbalism program. After a well rested Christmas break, and a lot of inspiration from more time up north and in our local woods, I will be offering circles and workshops this year! Now is the time to really facilitate in bringing people a greater understanding of nature, of offering safe care, and teaching ethical practices. I have so much gratitude for the Earth, the plants and her resources. It is always such an honor to bring these wonderful blessings into my treatment space and into the workshops that I facilitate.
I have interests in plant and mushroom photography, music, spending time with my husband and our three lively boys cycling, hiking, swimming, sledding or snowshoeing.
My professional experience includes working with individuals and their concern such as; anxiety, PTSD, chronic pain management, rehabilitation, motor vehicle accidents, lymphatic drainage, deep tissue therapy, trigger point therapy, prenatal and pediatric massage. I currently offer Registered Massage Therapy, Tibetan Bowl Therapy (Sound therapy), Subtle and Clinically-based Aromatherapy, Reiki, Reflexology and facilitation for custom hands-on workshops. Special care is taken for all treatments and products. Organic, high-quality essential oils and carrier oils are used for treatments and are available for purchase, along with custom-made products that have been created in small batches.
I am thankful for the ongoing opportunities to work with other therapists and facilitators in providing care for those in our community.
