Maidens and Medicine Women: Celebrating our Femininity
Winter 2015 Introducing a 5 evening series that is a harmonious effort of teachings, aromatherapy and group participation with a focus on womens' health and development. This is an opportunity for healing, gentle transition, personal reflection, laughter, wisdom and growth!

When: Doors open at 6:45 and the teachings are enjoyed from 7pm until 9pm
February Thurs. 5th Our Sisterhood Our Sisterhood. This is an invitation to look at our ways of how we see and celebrate other women. It is gentle encouragement to appreciate the camaraderie that Sisterhood has to offer as we contribute our own unique gifts. To offer energetic and physical support we will be using traditional healing oils, Helichrysum and Benzoin.
February Thurs. 12thSynergy and Sensuality Jasmine! An essential oil associated with moving towards trust. To help diffuse the energy and triggers associated with the word sensuality, Sarah will be approaching the topic through the senses and utilizing her work as an RMT. Sarah has experience working with those with PTSD and anxiety so this evening is a very gentle and thoughtful approach to making peace with our senses as we make tiny steps to becoming better friends with our body.
February Thurs. 19th Maidens and Motherhood When creating this evening a lot of thought was given to the wonderful women in our community and honoring Motherhood while recognizing the unique paths that women walk. Through reflection and intent to define Motherhood, an evening has been created that honor mothers, those who are not able to conceive, those who do not wish to conceive, and those who hold conception in dreams for their future. We all move from Maidenhood into Womanhood. All women carry the Voice of Creation. Essential oils include Caraway, Cardamom and Angelica. Christine Kellyis a healing arts practitioner and certified facilitator of the Amherst Writers Method in Newmarket. She welcomes the opportunity to share writing as a spiritual practice and tool for personal growth and transformation with women in our community.
February Thurs. 26th Hearth Holders This evening is celebration and reflection on the traditional role as women being the Hearth Holders. Though times have changed and many of our tasks have been given to machines or outside help, our roles, our presence as the Woman-in-the-home has not changed. This is an opportunity to look at our energy in relation to our home, our self-esteem and our contributions to the home of our soul and the home of our family. The properties of Vetiver and Mandarin will be discussed and enjoyed.
March Thurs. 5th Medicine Women and our Ancestors Women have been the traditional caregivers and healers. They knew the herbs, the trees, the preparations and the stories that contributed to the health and wholeness of their family and community. This knowledge was passed down from generation to generation, and the gratitude for the offerings provided from the Earth were woven into their songs, their prayers and their lives. Our series will be closed with White Sage and Rose Otto. Diana Atherton Davisis our flute elder and wise women who will be joining us to share her life experiences. Diana has enjoyed being an artist and musician who plays traditional native flutes and crystal singing bowls.
The Essential Oils in this Series that we will explore include Helichrysum, Benzoin, Jasmine, Caraway, Cardamom, Angelica, Vetiver, Mandarin, White Sage and Rose.
Sarah Feiner is an RMT who also practices Clinical Aromatherapy and Subtle Energy Healing in Newmarket. She will be facilitating the series.
Participants will receive either a blend/ointment/or liquid smudge on each evening with the oils we are discussing. There will also be a full color & informative booklet, opportunity for hands-on experience and personalized blends to take home.
Topics during the series include: -What is an essential oil -How does aromatherapy work -Blending with different carrier oils and their properties -Intuitive blending -Heart Meditation -Mindfulness meditation -Tibetan Singing Bowls
